Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase of two (2) computer servers for the Technology Department. Each purchase will consist of one (1) server, two (2) additional sticks of memory, and three (3) hard drives. This purchase was anticipated during the budget planning process and funds are available for this purchase within the General Purpose School Fund Budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board. We received bids from seven (7) companies, which are summarized on the bid request tally sheet. Individual bids were as follows:

GovConnection – $12,604.00
CDW Government LLC – $12,463.34
Personal Computer Systems, Inc. – $13,278.00
SDF Professional Computers – $12,431.48 (did not meet specs – bid arrived late)
Howard Technology Solutions, Inc. – $13,222.00
Central Knox, Inc. – $12,718.00
Insight Systems Exchange – $4,799.92 (refurbished – does not meet specs)

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the low bid meeting all specifications as submitted by CDW Government LLC in the amount of $12,463.34 for two (2) computer servers.
